Frequently Asked Questions

All we need is the zip code or city for the pick-up and delivery of your vehicle, the year, make, and model of the vehicle you want to ship, its condition (whether it’s running or not), how you’d prefer to ship it (open car transport vs. enclosed car shipping), and the number of vehicles you want to ship.

Absolutely, that’s not a problem at all. We aim to provide auto transport that meets your needs, so let us know what they are, and we’ll find the best way to ship your vehicle. We provide personalized quotes? that fit your schedule, availability, urgency, and other needs.

Yes, we can! Our price match promise works like this: If the price you get doesn’t meet your expectations, please get in touch over the phone, email, or live chat. If one of our direct competitors has given you a better quote, let us know what it is, and we’ll do our best to match it.

Absolutely not! We need your email address to send you a copy of your quote and any shipping documentation. Your phone number is also necessary because it’s the quickest way to contact you and to verify you’re a real person. Rest assured, we do not use your details for marketing purposes or give them to third parties. They are stored securely on our system and protected from unsolicited access. We may share your details with our partners, but this is only for the purpose of getting your car shipped once you confirm your booking.

Our quotes are valid for 14 days. If you can’t confirm your booking within that time frame, contact us, and we can recalculate it. Our quotes are time-sensitive because the car shipping industry changes constantly due to many variables.

FAD is the first possible date when your vehicle is ready to be collected by the carrier and loaded onto the transportation truck

We are happy to accept the following payment options:

  • All major credit or debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express (Ames)
  • Wire transfers
  • Zelle payments
  • COD (cash/certified check on delivery)

For the Cash on Delivery (COD) payment option, we split the cost of your auto transport service into two parts. One part is taken upon dispatch, and you pay the remaining amount upon delivery of your car.

Yes, you can! We don’t need a house number or street to generate an accurate quote. However, we do need the zip code or city.

Yes, we offer guaranteed car pick-up service for open car transport and enclosed car shipping services. However, we can only guarantee a pick-up between Monday and Friday; you’ll also have to pay a little extra.

So many variables are involved in shipping a vehicle that it’s virtually impossible to guarantee a delivery date. We will happily give you an estimated day of arrival, but your shipment could be delayed for several reasons. At any time, you may contact us to find out where your vehicle is. The driver will call one day and a couple of hours ahead of their arrival so you can get prepared and be ready at the delivery address.

Yes, your vehicle is fully insured by the carrier’s cargo insurance policy. Additionally, our company meets all US Department of Transport (DOT) requirements.

Typically, your vehicle carrier will pick up your car within a few days of your First Available Pick-up Date (FAD). Once the carrier has picked up your vehicle, the transit time could be 1 to 10 days, depending on the distance.

You can secure one to two pieces of luggage, either bags or suitcases, in your vehicle's trunk or cargo area. If you’d like more, discuss this with one of our experienced car shipping experts.

Actually, this is optional if you want to ship your car. We don’t need the license plate, only the vehicle and the key. We recommend you mail any legal documents for your vehicle and never transport them inside your vehicle.

We recommend booking at least two weeks before your vehicle is ready to be shipped.

Absolutely not! Our prices are all-inclusive. Your quote includes all taxes, fees, and full insurance coverage. There will be no extra hidden fees, and that’s a promise.

Yes, you can! We appreciate that plans can change, so don’t worry if you need to cancel your booking. It’s best to do it before we assign a carrier to your order. We’ll inform you when that happens so you won’t miss it, should you decide to cancel.

Yes, we will. However, if we’ve already assigned a carrier to your booking, we will keep any charged amount up to $199. We refund the difference. However, if you cancel your shipment before dispatch, there is no cancellation charge at all.

Yes, you will get a car shipping discount when you transport two or more vehicles simultaneously.

Car shipping vehicle pick up step 2

step 2

We pick up your vehicle

We contact you as soon as we schedule your vehicle for a pick-up. On the day, the assigned driver gives you a few hours' notice to ensure you’re prepared. Don’t worry if you’re unavailable; you can assign a third party to act on your behalf. You could choose a neighbor, a friend, a relative, or a colleague. The only stipulation is that they must be 18 years or older.

When the driver contacts you, they want to confirm that the pick-up location suits large vehicles. The truck picking up your vehicle could be as long as 80 feet and weigh 80,000 pounds. Therefore, the driver wants to verify your location is truck-friendly.

If there is an issue due to local restrictions, zoning ordinances, low-hanging trees, or overhead power lines, now is the time to make alternative arrangements. Suitable locations include parking lots at a shopping mall, place of work, or an unrestricted or wider street nearby.

When the carrier arrives, you and the driver carefully inspect your vehicle, noting any existing scratches, dings, dents, or chips on the Bill of Lading (BOL). You sign it to confirm you’re happy with the recorded information, and the driver gives you a copy for safekeeping. You use this copy to compare when you receive your vehicle in a few days.

With all the documentation complete, you can wish the driver safe travels and let him get on the road.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are a few things you can do if you want to get your vehicle ready for transport:

  • Thoroughly wash your vehicle so that you and the driver can perform a comprehensive inspection and record any existing damage on the Bill of Lading (BOL).
  • Remove aftermarket accessories such as spoilers, lip bumpers, side skirts, and other accessories that change your vehicle’s dimensions.
  • Turn off your alarm system and remove your toll transponder. If this isn’t possible, wrapping the transponder in aluminum foil will avoid unnecessary toll charges.
  • Make sure you have a set of keys available for the carrier.

Yes, it’s possible to change your First Available Pick-up Date. However, postponing your shipment for more than 14 days could result in a price change.

A carrier uses a pick-up truck or a 2-5 car hauler trailer for short distances. Semi-trucks (6-10 car haulers) usually serve longer distances, such as on a coast-to-coast route. Each type of truck can transport a specific number of vehicles:

  • 1-5 car haulers are pick-up trucks typically used for distances up to 1,000 miles.
  • 6-10 car haulers are for distances over 1,000 miles. These semi-trucks can be up to 80 feet long and weigh 80,000 pounds.

Semi-trucks and specialized trailers generally transport vehicles over 7 feet in height, such as school buses, box trucks, farming equipment, and similar heavy and oversized vehicles.

As soon as we assign a carrier, we tell you what type of truck to expect for the pick-up.

While your vehicle is in transit, we regularly update you on its progress from the moment of dispatch and pick-up. We also give you the driver's and dispatch department's contact details. The driver contacts you when the pick-up and delivery times approach. You can also get regular updates over the phone, live chat, or email.

The Bill of Lading (BOL) plays a critical role in the car shipping process. It serves as a receipt and a condition report. You and the driver use the BOL to record any damages during pick-up and delivery. Typically, carriers use a mobile app rather than a piece of paper. You’ll receive a copy of the BOL after pick-up and delivery.

Top load placement refers to the positioning of vehicles on the top deck or level of a multi-car carrier trailer. There are several advantages of top load placement:

  • Protection from debris
  • Improved visibility for the driver
  • Guarantees there will be no cars above yours
  • There is no risk of fluid leaks from vehicles above

We recommend placing convertibles and vehicles with custom paint on top for extra protection. For this service, you must pay a small fee, but it’s worth it for the added protection.

step 3

We deliver your vehicle

You receive a notification that your vehicle is nearby a day before the delivery. Further notification is given a couple of hours before the delivery. The driver is checking whether you’re available to receive it. You don’t need to change your plans if you’re busy because you can nominate a backup person to receive your vehicle. They could be a relative, neighbor, co-worker, or friend, as long as they’re over 18 years old.

Contact your local towing company or dealership if you can’t find someone to act on your behalf. They might be able to help with the delivery of your vehicle.

When your vehicle arrives, you and the driver must perform a delivery inspection and compare it to the original BOL. Record any damage, dents, scratches, or chips on the BOL and then sign it to accept delivery of your vehicle.

One final step concerns the payment. If you prepaid for the transport, all that’s left for you to do is sign the Bill of Lading (BOL). Suppose you chose the Cash on Delivery (COD) payment option when booking; now is the time to pay the driver the balance. You can pay with cash, a cashier’s check, Zelle, or Cash App.
