Information for Hawaii Shipments
For Hawaii shipments, the vehicle must be completely empty, except factory installed equipment. There may be no more than 1/4 tank of gas. All keys must accompany the car. The vehicle must be in running condition for roll on / roll off service.
The vehicle is shipped from the port on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are not available. During the summer months, delays of one to two weeks for shipment are not uncommon. Once the ship sails, the transport time to Hawaii is approximately ten days.
Please provide us with your contact information in Hawaii on the shipping order as well as your vehicle identification number. When your vehicle is loaded on a ship, a "Notice of Arrival" is mailed to the consignee's address. It will show when the vehicle is available for pick-up.
Vehicles are shipped roll on/roll off and below deck. The vehicles are not exposed to the elements. Your vehicle is covered by insurance of $1000 per 40 cubic feet while on the ship. Additional marine insurance may be purchased by contacting a private insurance agency.
If you are shipping FROM Hawaii to the mainland, it is required by the State of Hawaii that there be proof of ownership when the vehicle is delivered to the port. Thus, you need to bring a certificate of ownership and current certificate of registration with the vehicle to the port. If someone other than the registered owner is delivering the vehicle to the port, the registered owner needs to provide them with a letter of authorization and a current certificate of registration. Also, if there is a lien holder named on the registration, a letter from the lien holder authorizing shipment from Hawaii is required.
Full payment must be made before the vehicle is shipped. Please remember to put your vehicle identification number on the order form.
